With the rise of AI tools like ChatGPT, DALL-E, and MidJourney, the buzz around artificial intelligence has never been louder. While many LinkedIn discussions highlight the awe and ethical concerns of these tools, it's important to remember that AI is not brand new. These advancements are reshaping industries, including content moderation, where Logora has harnessed AI to enhance efficiency and credibility.

A) AI in Content Moderation: A Real-World Example

One crucial area AI is transforming is content moderation. At Logora, we’ve already seen the positive effects of AI algorithms in collaboration with a diverse range of businesses. By using AI to analyze and monitor online content, we’ve been able to respond faster to inappropriate or harmful posts, preserving the integrity of brands while improving user experience.

Between May 2023 and 2024, out of approximately 50 million pieces of content analyzed by Logora, over 30 million were processed automatically, without human input. Among these, the AI detected around 12% of posts containing threats of violence, hate speech, scams, or discriminatory language. This equated to roughly 3.6 million instances of highly toxic content that, thanks to AI moderation, were flagged and removed, preventing exposure to harmful material for both users and human moderators.

However, failing to monitor content effectively can lead to serious consequences. For example, tragic events like the Christchurch shooting in New Zealand or the case of Amanda Todd, who was a victim of cyberbullying, highlight the dangers of unmoderated platforms. Without robust AI moderation, such incidents can spiral into digital chaos, exacerbating the harm done in real life.

B) The Importance of Strict Moderation

This is why stringent, high-quality moderation is more important than ever. Brands are increasingly at risk of reputational damage if harmful content slips through the cracks. With AI, the worst-case scenarios—like the spread of violent or offensive material—can be prevented before they escalate. AI acts as a powerful tool to safeguard businesses, enhancing brand protection in a rapidly changing digital environment.

C) AI as a Complement, Not a Replacement

While AI speeds up processes and improves accuracy, it doesn’t replace human workers—it complements them. AI is great at handling large volumes of data quickly, but human intervention remains vital in areas that require empathy, creativity, and complex decision-making. This synergy between AI and human expertise allows companies to operate more efficiently while preserving the human touch.

D) Looking Ahead: Embracing the Future

Rather than fearing these innovations, we should embrace them. AI has the potential to save time, prevent harm, and enable more thoughtful digital interactions. Let’s move forward together, learning from and benefiting from these powerful technologies to create a better, safer online world.
